Issue with dhcp

Model: Deco BE65
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I have static entry for remote and androidtv on Deco. Wake on lan not working with the Deco  dhcp to provide ip address and remote control goes into standby, ip address disappears, when remote wakes, dhcp does not provide the static associated ip address and have to reboot the remote to get ip address from dhcp. I have be65 v1, will 1.2.0 fix issues and can v1 run 1.2.0 currently on version 1.1.0? Please fix issues

Need help with the Deco app, setup, Ethernet backhaul, network switch or rolling back firmware? Router or AP mode? https://community.tp-link.com/us/home/forum/topic/699816?page=1

@Hunterg the issue you describe with wake on lan and static dhcp bindings not always working has been reported by other deco users too when the device goes into standby it sometimes drops off the arp/dhcp table and the static lease isn’t reapplied until reboot

the new 1.2.0 firmware for BE65 does include dhcp related fixes so it is worth updating and yes the v1 hardware can run 1.2.0 you can safely upgrade from 1.1.0 to 1.2.0 through the deco app

after update i’d suggest to delete and recreate your static entries and then test again this usually clears out any stale entries if the problem still continues even on 1.2.0 best option is to report through the app feedback so tp-link can see your logs and push further fixes

EDIT: Sorry that I've seen firmware for  Deco BE65 Pro_V1.0 !

Play Advanced

  @Hunterg

Hi, welcome to the community.

1.2.0 Build 20250718 Rel. 43949 for Deco BE65_V2 can't be installed on the Deco BE65_V1.

Can I have the model number of your Android TV?

Do you use a smart TV remote control instead of a standard infrared (IR) TV remote?

When you set " static entry for remote and androidtv on Deco", did you choose "Select from Client" or "Custom"?

Wake on LAN doesn't need the DHCP router to deal with the Magic Packet. As long as both devices support WOL, one device could be configured to wake up the other device in the local network.

"Wake on WAN" needs the active involvement of the DHCP router. However, Deco doesn't support IP&MAC binding, and it can't be used for Wake on WAN.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.
