Solution Enabling QoS on the Archer AX55 May Cause Latency and Buffer Bloat
This Article Applied to:
Archer AX55_V1_1.3.5 Build 20241211/1.4.1 Build 20250821
Phenomenon:
We've received some user feedback that after updating the Archer AX55 V1 to firmware 1.3.5 or 1.4.1, noticeable latency or buffer bloat may occur when the QoS feature is enabled.
This was initially reported by Zuiko in this thread.
Our development team has identified the cause and provided the following feasible solutions.
Available Solutions:
Solution 1:
To address this unexpected behavior, our development team has provided a beta firmware. Zuiko has verified this beta firmware. We recommend downloading and testing this firmware:

Archer AX55_V1 | Archer AX55_V1_1.3.5 Build 20250918(Beta Firmware) |
Solution 2:
If you have updated to version 1.3.5 but do not want to test the beta firmware, you can also download version 1.3.3 and manually downgrade: Archer AX55(EU)_V1_1.3.3 Build 20240628.
Note:
- Please be sure you have read the Beta Test Agreement before upgrading the pre-release firmware!
- For the sake of insurance, it's always recommended to save a copy of the router's Backup Config file before upgrading or downgrading.
- You may follow the guide to upgrade the firmware of your router. How to Upgrade the Firmware on the TP-Link Wi-Fi Routers.
If you have any additional questions about Archer AX55, please let us know whether you have tried the above solutions and what the results are.
