Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.3.0 Build 20250725 Rel.54254

Hi, I have two DecoX1500s, and for some time now, they've been disconnecting devices from the network (not always the same ones) from time to time, and then they won't let me reconnect, giving an error message about an incorrect password. I just updated the firmware, and it's still the same. What could be wrong? What tests can I run? Thanks.

@RMedina Forget the network from those devices, then connect again.

If that doesn't work, change the Wi-Fi password from the Deco app

Just a M4 (2-pack) user who regrets buying it

Okay, I understand that you are receiving the error message "Failed to establish wireless function" when trying to change your password in the Deco app.

This type of error can occur when the app is unable to apply new settings to your Deco Mesh system. Please try the following troubleshooting steps to resolve the issue:

1. Wait a few minutes before making changes: After opening the Deco app, allow it to fully load and wait for a few minutes before attempting to change any settings.

2. Force close and reopen the Deco app: Completely close the app from your phone's recent apps list, then reopen it and try again.

3. Ensure your phone is connected to the Deco Wi-Fi network: Before opening the Deco app, make sure your phone is connected to your Deco Mesh Wi-Fi, not to mobile data or another Wi-Fi network.

4. If the issue persists: Please contact TP-Link support and provide the following information to help us assist you further:
    • Your TP-Link ID
    • Your phone model
    • Deco app version (found in the app at top left corner > App Settings > About)
    • The results of the troubleshooting steps above

Following these steps should help resolve the issue. If you continue to experience problems, our support team will be able to assist you further with the details you provide.

  @RMedina

Hi, what are the model numbers of the devices that randomly disconnect from the WiFi?

Is the satellite Deco X1500 connected to the main Deco via WiFi Backhaul or Ethernet Backhaul?

Did it help if you set a separate SSID for the 2.4Ghz and 5Ghz networks, for example:

  • Disable 2.4GHz on the Main WiFi network and set SSID#1
  • Enable IOT network for 2.4GHz and set SSID#2

Then you can test whether the disconnection mainly occurs in the 2.4GHz or 5GHz band.

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

  @David-TP I've enabled the guest network (with a password) and the devices connected to it aren't having any issues. The main network still has access issues due to a password error, even after changing it.

  @RMedina

Hi, would it help to set the WiFi Security of the main network to WPA2 only in case the devices don't support WPA3?

By the way, what are the model numbers of the mobile devices that constantly failed to connect and received a password error?

Thank you very much.

Best regards.
