Model: Deco X1500
Hardware Version: V6
Firmware Version: 1.0.5 Build 20240821 Rel. 41763

I installed a Deco X1500 4G router and a number of Deco E4 units in December 2024.  Although I periodically reboot the router, it has randomly disconnected from the 4G network (about every 4 - 6 weeks).  After the latest disconnection, it will not connect to the internet after rebooting.  As I need internet access, I have transferred the SIM card back to the original Huawei router supplied by the network operator and now have a working internet connection(but no Mesh system).

In an effort to by-pass the suspect SIM card device in the X1500, I was intending to change it to an access point connected by ethernet cable to the Huawei router, but have been unable to connect the X1500 to the laptop by ethernet to disable the DHCP and change the LAN IP because I get the message that "there is no internet connection" (laptop WiFi turned off).

Any suggestions?

P.S.  I think the hardware version is V6, but it is not shown on the base of the unit

Hi, thank you very much for the feedback.

Did you install the Deco App on your mobile phone?

https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/deco-x10-4g/#Apps

How to set up Deco to work in Access Point mode

Deco is mainly managed via the Deco App, and after setting it into AP mode, the DHCP on Deco will be automatically turned off.

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

@David-TP Just to clarify - without an internet connection, I can't link the iPad and app to the X1500.  The laptop has an ethernet port which why I tried that method, but without the app.

Sorry if I didn't make it clear.  I have the app on the iPad but without the internet, it could not update the Deco settings in the app.
