Model: Archer MR600   RE305
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version:

I have an MR600 and some RE305.

I setup the Address Reservation for a device, in the MR600. Yet when I scan the list of devices, the device with the MAC address has the wrong IP address:

This is erratic, it works sometimes, sometimes not. I suspect that the failure to assign the correct IP happens when the device connects through the repeater, but I am not sure how I can verify that.

Yes, unplugging one of the two RE305 I have (I'm not sure how http://tplinkrepeater.net/ decides which one to show?) solves the connection issue, and the device gets the correct IP.

How do I make sure the address reservation works, even for devices that connect through an RE305 and EasyMesh?

  @Gauthier

Hi, do you have Archer MR600_V5 and RE305_V4?

Archer MR600 doesn't support EasyMesh. Generally, they will create a OneMesh system.

When the Shelly Pro receives a different IP address, will both RE305s still show up as OneMesh extenders on the admin UI of MR600?

Have you tried to configure IP&MAC binding(under Advanced>Security>IP & MAC Binding) on the Archer MR600 for the Shelly device to see whether it forces the router to always assign the same IP to the Shell_Pro?

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

  @David-TP

Sorry, I meant OneMesh. I read the IP&MAC binding had to do with security, not with assigning IP addresses?

Both RE305 show up in the admin UI of MR600.

The RE305 have both DHCP to Auto. I changed it to Off (why would I want the extenders in Extender Mode to have their own DHCP server?) and it has been working so far. This might be my solution, time will tell. To future readers with a similar issue: ask me if this worked :)
