Model: Archer TXE75E
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version:

Hi,

My PC does not have built in wifi (and using ethernet cables mean my download speed is much lower than it should be (for full fibre broadband)). So I bought the Archer TXE75E and installed it into my PC. I've got no disc drive, so I found the drivers via here: Download for Archer TXE75E | TP-Link United Kingdom I selected V4 as the label on the box says UN/4.0, so I assume that means the same thing? The drivers seem to install all fine (though I did not install the driver for bluetooth), then when I first boot up my PC the wifi symbol is on the taskbar and for a short while it is connected to my BT router, which is upstairs (my PC is downstairs). Albeit the signal strength isn't great, so I was planning to get a wifi signal booster to plug in downstairs, but after a short while the wifi completely disappears and says "No Wi-Fi Networks Found" and stays that way. Ultimately the wifi adapter right now is just not working as it should

I ran the troubleshooter and it comes up with this

But I don't know what else to try

Hi,

Can other Wi-Fi devices get a connection to the BT router when placed at the same location where the Wi-Fi antennas of the Archer TXE75E are?

@woozle Hi, yes - my phone connects consistently to the wifi and is stable in the same spot as the antennas

Does your computer's mainboard have another unused PCIe slot you could try the TXE75E in?

Other than that there isn't really much that could be done. These Wi-Fi cards should work fine by just installing the driver, with no adjustment of any settings required.

@woozle I can't see any other slots for a wireless adapter on the motherboard. The WiFi works fine for a short while after booting up my PC, then it'll just drop out and it'll show no networks listed and that none can be found. Very frustrating as I'd solved the issue of a weak signal, so I've got great signal strength now but it'll just disappear and go offline. Its definitely not a fault with my BT router so I'm gonna have to assume it's a fault with this wireless adapter and try find a replacement.
