This Article Applied to:

TL-WPA4220_V5

Phenomenon:

We have received feedback from users that when the TL-WPA4220 V5 is connected to a Starlink Gen 3 router, the device will automatically and repeatedly restart.
Relevant departments have identified the cause: the interference was likely caused by the Power technology used in the Starlink router's Ethernet port, which led to the instability of the TL-WPA4220.
Meanwhile, our R&D department provided a beta firmware version for the TL-WPA4220. Verified by Mel1767, it was confirmed that this abnormal behavior can be resolved.

Available Solution:

The following beta firmwares are available for manual download to verify whether they resolve this unexpected behavior:

Note:

We welcome you to share your experience using the beta firmware and to add details not mentioned above. This includes, but is not limited to:
1. Router's and Powerline adapters' models and firmware.
2. Complete network topology.
3. Specific abnormal behaviors.

Thank you for your feedback and support.

EXCELLENT ! This SOLUTION should be cross-posted on the other related Community Forum threads, and on the TP-Link product support pages @ https://www.tp-link.com/au/support/download/tl-wpa4220/ & https://www.tp-link.com/au/support/download/tl-wpa4220-kit/.

  @Joseph-TP

Kia ora Joseph. While this solution fixed the continuous rebooting, it also seems to have throttled throughput !?!

While the StarLink router is supplying 99Mb/s download & 28Mb/s upload as per subscription, the TL-WPA4220 wifi is only achieving 36.8Mb/s download & (strangely) 42.8Mb/s upload (as measured by Ookla), all while the TP-Link app notes connectivity data rates of 275Mb/s from the TL-PA4010 to the TL-WPA4220 and 154Mb/s in the other direction.

Is there a configuration setting that I need to change to increase the download throughput ?

THANKS/Mark.

@Joseph-TP Re above "throttled throughput !?!"

Kia ora Joseph. I read Support FAQ https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/faq/2231/ & changed the Channel Width from 40Mhz to 20Mhz and resulting throughput change was 40.3Mbps download and 24.2Mbps which is fine.

If you can advise other changes to further increase the throughput, it would be great.

Thanks/Mark.
