Model: TL-MR100
Hardware Version: V4
Firmware Version: 1.6.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 240715 Rel.42657n

I want to let my Brightsign device register to Brightsign cloud platform through LTE Internet. I found it only works with MR100 plug and play. After I run the "quick setup" of MR100, my Brightsign device will be never online on the BSN platform, however, my laptop on the second LAN port can access to the Internet without any issue.

I tried to turn off firewall, still not working. If I whitelist the Brightsign device (Access Control is off by default), it could go online but if I reboot either the Brightsign or the MR100, it goes offline again forever until I factory reset MR100.

Anyone know what was done during the MR100's quick setup procedure might result as this "blocking"?

Thanks

Hi, welcome to the community.

If you put the SIM card into the mobile phone and enable the Hotspot, will the Brightsign device stably connect to the Brightsign cloud platform?

If MR100 is plug-and-play without "quick setup", we can skip the QS process after selecting the TimeZone. If you need to change any network settings, you can go to "Basic" and "Advanced" directly.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.

Hi, thanks for your message. That hotspot testing scenario is not applicable to my issue because I don't have Wi-Fi chip in my Brightsign device. My solution is wire connected the device to the MR100 to get the Internet. The SIM is from my smartphone so the SIM should be normal.

Yes, that's what I am doing now, skipped the Quick Setup and straight to the Advance for LAN and Radio setting. It works no matter I reboot the Brightsign device or MR100.

However, I found another interesting result that if I set the mode to "Wireless Router" instead of "3G/4G Router" even I have skipped Quick Setup, it will have problem after LTE Internet taking over from the WAN Internet. Brightsign will go dead when I reboot it after the LTE is connected. It's like something similar to Quick Setup happened during the SIM backup procedure, I don't have much time to go deeper though.
