Hi all,

I am hoping to see if anyone else with the TP Link Deco BE65 Pro is seeing similar behaviour.

I am on a 1 Gbps symmetric fibre connection. When I reboot the main Deco and run a speed test, I initially get:

  • ~900 to 940 Mbps download
  • ~900 to 940 Mbps upload

However, after about 5 to 10 minutes, without changing anything, the speeds settle into this pattern:

  • Download drops to around 500 to 600 Mbps and stays there rock solid
  • Upload remains at 900+ Mbps

If I reboot the Deco again, download immediately goes back to 900+, but then drops back to ~600 again after a few minutes.

Things I have tried:

  • Different test servers and devices
  • Turning off QoS and HomeShield
  • Disabling MLO
  • Reboots and fresh setup
  • Tried Access Point mode as well
  • Signal strength is excellent and upload is always full speed

This feels less like Wi Fi interference and more like some kind of routing, traffic shaping or firmware behaviour kicking in after boot.

Has anyone else with the Deco BE65 Pro or other Wi Fi 7 Decos seen:

  • Full speeds right after reboot
  • Then a consistent downstream cap a few minutes later
  • While upload stays maxed out?

If so, did you ever find a fix, or is this just a firmware limitation at the moment?

Thanks in advance.
