Archer AX73 AX5400 Setup and Operation Mode
For context, my connection is NBN Australia, FTTP (fibre to the premises). The NTD (network termination device) is located in my garage.
My TP Link archer AX73 AX5400 WiFi router connects to the NTD via Cat 6 patch cable inserted into blue WAN port on the router. A second cat 6 patch cable connects the router to my desktop PC (both located in a spare bedroom upstairs).
I can, if I wish, connect my PC to the router wirelessly, however, because of the close proximity I chose a wired connection.
In the same upstairs room is a wireless printer.
Downstairs I have four devices that connect wirelessly to the router; 2×mobile (cellular) phones, 1×laptop, and 1×smart TV
Here is my first issue; setting up the TP Link router was less than straightforward. If I choose Australia NBN in the limited list of ISPs the VLAN ID defaults to 100 and I can't change this to 2, which is my current ISP's VLAN ID. The only way around this was to choose Custom Mode and input the all of the relevant information manually.
VLAN ID=100 is restricted to three ISPs in Australia.
Second issue; In Advanced Settings, if I choose Router Mode I can't get an internet connection (led=red). In Access Point Mode it connects and works OK. I don't have a mesh system nor a second router in operation, why is Router Mode unavailable to me?
