Deco X50-5G with Free Mobile SIM card does not connect to internet
Hi everyone,
I installed some months ago a Deco X50-5G router with a SIM card provided by a French ISP, Free Mobile, with 5G (SA/NSA) phone and 350 Go/month data plan.
It worked well until end of October but I shut it down then and restarted it only yesterday. Since yesterday, there is no way to make it works again.
The Deco router has an hardware version V1 and its firmware is version 1.3.0 Build 20250724 Rel. 41491.
The SIM is still active, with data available. I tested it on a smartphone and was able to call someone and browse some random web pages.
The SIM pin code has been successfully checked on the Deco router (set now as PIN free in the Deco app).
The ISP profile has the following settings :
- Profile name : Free-Mobile
- DPD type : IPv4 (also tested with IPv4 and IPV6)
- APN type : Static (also tested as Dynamic)
- APN : free (all in lower caps)
- No user name nor password (not supposed to be necessary)
- Authentication type : none
I have seen there is a firmware upgrade available for this kind of router (https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/816824) on the "Worldwide/English" tp-link Home Network Community web site but :
- there is a red warning maessage saying "Please upgrade firmware from the local TP-Link official website of the purchase location for your TP-Link device, otherwise it will be against the warranty."
- and if I go to the "France/Français" site, this upgrade is not available.
Can I use the Deco X50-5G(EU)_V1_1.3.1 Build 20250918 firmware ugrade available here https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/download/deco-x50-5g/v1/#Firmware?
Could it help fixing my internet connection issue?
If not, do you have any other suggestions to analyze the issue or, better, to fix it?
Thank you to anyone able to help me.
Regards,
Thierry
