BE25 2.4 Ghz connectivity Xiaomi S10+ (upgrade from M5)
Issue Summary:
I upgraded my router from Deco M5 to Deco B25 (same location in the center of the house), same SSID and password. My S10+ vacuum cleaner is in the same location as before. All other devices switched over without any issues, but the S10+ is having problems.
The vacuum randomly loses its Wi-Fi connection. Sometimes app commands work, but five minutes later it’s offline with a red robot LEDs.
Troubleshooting Steps Taken:
- Spent some time on this issue.
- Checked all forums and tried suggested fixes:
- Disabled beamforming and other functions
- Enabled only 2.4 GHz
- Created IoT network
- Reset the robot
- Multiple Wi-Fi resets
- And so on...
- Repositioned the robot closer to the router (helped) got commands working.
- Signal strength on Deco app looks great, but the robot App reports 50% packet loss.
Current Situation:
On 2.4 GHz, I’m getting 50% packet loss, causing random disconnections and red LEDs on the S10+ compared to previous status while using M5 as main router.
Workaround:
I reconnected the old Deco M5 and created a dedicated 2.4 GHz access point, located behind one extra brick wall in the closet, about 1 meter farther from the S10+ than the new B25 which is in open air in the hallway/ no obstacles close by. Surprisingly using M5, packet loss dropped to 20%, signal strenght medium and the app works flawlessly with all commands available.
Conclusion:
Unfortunately, I couldn’t fix the issue with the DECO B25. Based on other customers’ feedback, I’m not expecting TP-Link to provide immediate help. Hopefully, a future firmware update will resolve this. Of course I don't want to have two routers running, considering new BE25 return and keep using the old M5.
DECO devices I own X20, E4R, M5, BE25 (not at the same location)
