Model: Deco PX50
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.2.3 Build 20240724 Rel. 28307

I had, or used to have, a mesh network for my home. Over the past few days, I noticed a significant drop in reliability: every single deco I had would turn red, lose internet for a bit, then randomly come back online. I unplugged my modem, rebooted my main deco, everything. The problems persisted. Until yesterday.

I noticed my main deco went offline again. I tried to reboot the network but, because my system was offline, I was unable to connect. So I decided to reset my entire system (despite the fact that this would mean re-connecting many of my smart devices to the new deco wireless system). This is where the problems began.

When I reset my system, I immediately noticed there were 22 online clients. This was odd, considering I had not connected a single client other than my phone to this new wireless network I created. Odder still, other than my cellphone and one other client, my deco app said that every single one of my clients were connected to my main deco through a wired connection -- obviously impossible since my main deco only has three wired ports in the back. Worse, despite completing a factory reset on my deco, my old internet network was still active. The problem? I cannot access that old network on my deco app.

I can toggle between my old network and my current network by going to the wifi settings on my phone. I cannot do the same on the app. The only network that shows up on my app is the new network. No matter how many times I unplug, reboot, and reconnect the satellite decos, my cellphone refuses to connec to the satellite. If I'm not within range of my main deco, I lose the new internet. But I still can connect to the old internet. When I went to Wi-Fi settings in my app, both the 6 GHz Network and the 2.4 GHz Network were grayed out and said "off".

After spending hours trying to troubleshoot the problem, I am no longer interested in trying to figure out what went wrong. At this point, all I want to know is whether there's a way to either delete my old network (which would mean finding a way to enable my current 2.4 GHz Network, allowing me to move from room to room while not losing internet) OR somehow reconnect to the old network and delete the new one. Does anyone know of a way to do this?

Hi, welcome to the community.

It seems like the last factory reset only took effect on the main Deco. The satellite PX50s still kept the previous settings.

It is recommended to test the following suggestions:

  • Hardware reset each Deco PX50 by holding the bottom reset pinhole for 1s, till you can see all Deco units start blinking blue
  • Remove/Delete the previous Mesh Network on the Deco App.
  • Double-check on the mobile devices and make sure all previous SSIDs disappeared from the WLAN list. (You should only be able to detect the default Deco SSIDs, such as Deco_xxxx, the last 4 characters of the MAC addresses.)

After that, please start a new setup on the Deco App again.

Thank you very much.

Best regards.
