Deco Mesh - how many must be connected via ethernet to the main router ?

I have a router i cant replace. I want to create a mesh with 3 deco's. Is it sufficient to connect the first deco via ethernet to the router, or must all deco's be connected via Ethernet? And if 1 Ethernet is sufficient, does that apply to all models/series ?

thanks

Oliver

@OliverHA Yes, it's sufficient to connect the first Deco via Ethernet to the router

Just a M4 (2-pack) user who regrets buying it

Sunday

@OliverHA You're the first person ever to ask me that question 😅

1. I didn't do enough research. Had I done, I would've gone with M5 in a heartbeat.

2. We don't change routers in 8-10 years, which means I'm stuck with the M4s for another 2-3 years.

3. Even if could change routers today, anything less than Wi-Fi 6E feels not so "future-proof" (waiting for Wi-Fi 6E routers to become popular & therefore becoming less expensive in my country)

Just a M4 (2-pack) user who regrets buying it
