I've just bought the above device today as I have been wanting to be able to set up a VPN through it. Figured this was the cheapest way rather than having to change my ISP router etc. From all I've looked I'm unable to find a VPN option in the advanced settings. All the guides say it should be there and, with it being a travel router, I'd hoped regardless of access type that it would provide VPN support. 

I currently have it set up as a range extender for my home wifi and don't have an option for VPN. I haven't tried hardwiring it through my router yet and trying different access options, mainly because where my router is located, its difficult to reach additional power points and when I did try plugging the provided USB in the back of my router, it didn't power on (although it did cycle through the 3 lights dance it does when its first plugged in, it never came on, even after leaving it for 10 minutes). 

I'm totally new to travel routers and setting up VPN but I wouldn't class myself as particularly inept with internet devices and setting things up. Unless I'm just overcomplicating things and have railroaded myself into a certain line of thought.

Open to advice/suggestions/moral support as what I had hoped to be an easy evening task has turned into a bit of a saga.
