Archer BE230 - Firmware v1.2.5 - Possible Open VPN Client bug
Archer BE230 - Firmware v1.2.5 - Possible Open VPN Client bug
Since upgrading to the above version I've not been able to get any Open VPN client connections working for TCP and UDP. Any ideas?

Hello @djs88 ,
Welcome to our community.
Is it your first time setting up an OpenVPN client? If not, here are some steps that may help:
1. Reconfigure the VPN Client:
• Go to Advanced > VPN Client;
• Delete the existing VPN Client profile if present;
• Set up the OpenVPN Client again with your provider's configuration file (.ovpn), username, and password.
2. Review troubleshooting resources: Please review VPN Client on Wi-Fi Router Is Not Working
3. Test the configuration file: Make sure your .ovpn configuration file works properly by testing it on a computer first before importing it to the router.

@Joseph-TP This is happening on my Archer BE230.
OpenVPN client connection stopped working after firmware upgrade to 1.3.1
it was working fine prior to the firmware upgrade. I have setup VPN client connections on multiple routers.
Not working on either TCP or UDP.

Note that the ovpn file is good and working on other devices. Again, this issue came up after a firmware upgrade and prior to that it was working.

@Joseph-TP No not my first time, i've set up many OpenVPN client connections before. The config files i am using work fine when used with the OpenVPN client so points to an issue with the firmware.

I confirmed that OpenVPN on BE230 firmware 1.3.1 is broken. Tp-link should acknowledge and issue a fix.
- 3 OpenVPN profiles to 3 different VPN servers: all work on other devices, but break on Tp-link.
- I used wireguard on the Tp-link to the same 3 servers, and they work.
(I could not stay on wireguard. NordVPN dedicated IP only support 1 active wireguard client, while the shared IP supports 10. I wanted to reserve the wireguard for a mobile client and use OpenVPN on the router)
It should be super easy to fix this ancient tech but Tp-link hasn't fixed it for months, from firmware 1.2.5 to 1.3.1. I plan to return the router to Amazon and leave a review.

Description:
1. OpenVPN client stops working after firmware update
2. Different OpenVPN configuration files were tested on the router to connect to different VPN servers, but none of them worked.
3. The same files worked on other devices.
4. WireGuard on the router can be connected to the same servers, and they all worked normally.

Hello @broak
Your hardware version should be v2, right? This hardware version shouldn't have firmware 1.2.5.
Also, could you confirm if the OpenVPN client worked correctly before updating to 1.3.1?
