Firmware Version:

Hi,

I'm finding mixed information on the D205 and if it's compatible with the H200 hub for video storage specifically.  All of the D205 guide say that it supports local (on device) or cloud storage.  The Smart Hub Compatible Camera list says that it's compatible, but not with which features i.e. chime only or storage too.  The product page says that I can "Get instant chime alerts with your existing Tapo Hub...".  Finally, this post on the forum strongly suggests that it can store video on the H200 hub.

Is there a definitive answer on this.  Can the D205 store video on the H200 hub?

Thanks

Compatibility between a WiFi camera or video doorbell and the Tapo Hub (H200/H500) generally refers to the support of two specific functions: Video Storage and WiFi Backup. These features are only activated once the camera is paired with the hub. Unless otherwise noted in the compatibility list, a compatible camera is expected to support both functions once connected to the hub.

The chime function for doorbells, however, is a separate feature. Currently, all Tapo Hub models, including those without local storage hardware, support being configured as a chime for Tapo video doorbells. For example, the Tapo H100 lacks built-in storage but can still be paired as a wireless chime. How to add another chime for the Tapo Doorbell

@Wayne-TP  I understood about the difference between the Chime and Hub.  The video storage support wasn't explicit enough, so thank you for confirming that it will work.
