Wired back haul crashes

Model: Deco BE95
Hardware Version:
Firmware Version: 1.1.1

I’m really at my wits end with this setup.

I have about 100 devices on my network, mostly IoT and I created a dedicated IoT network for them. I live with roommates, and both my roommate and I have Eufy camera bases (different models). At first, both bases were plugged into a satellite Deco that was running on wireless backhaul. My cameras kept cutting out randomly, so I assumed the issue was that both bases were on the same satellite. I moved his base to the main Deco unit, but the problem continued. Then I moved mine to the main unit as well. That finally stopped the camera dropouts, but the satellite Deco itself still kept going offline at random.

So I figured the wireless backhaul was the real issue and decided to switch to wired backhaul. That meant running cable between floors, which was a whole ordeal. I thought this would finally solve everything and let me move one of the Eufy bases back to the now wired satellite Deco. But to make all this work, I had to add a network switch because we have a ton of devices: my other roommate wanted wired Ethernet for his PlayStation, plus I needed ports for my Xbox, PC, TV, and the camera base. I bought an unmanaged TP‑Link switch. (For context, my ISP modem is in bridge mode.)

To complicate things further, one roommate plugged some Apple modem thing into the satellite Deco totally unnecessary in my opinion. And after all this, the satellite Deco continues to go offline.

So I started working backwards. I unplugged the Apple device. I unplugged the Eufy bases. I disconnected the network switch. Right now, the only things connected via Ethernet are the two Deco units using wired backhaul. And the satellite Deco STILL randomly goes offline.

At this point, I’m realizing I’ve had this issue since the very beginning, even when everything was on wireless backhaul. I originally thought it was the camera bases, or the Apple device, or the switch, or some combination of them but now that I’ve stripped everything down, the problem is still there.

This system claims it can handle 200 devices. I’m only at around 100. I’m honestly about to tear my hair out. Why does this one Deco keep going offline ?!

Hi, welcome to the community.

Can I have the current firmware version of your Deco BE95?

Would satellite Deco BE95 turn flashing red during the disconnection? And how about its status on the Deco App, Offline?

If both Deco BE95 stay on solid green but the mobile devices randomly drop out, Deco BE95 supports Channel Selection, and it is suggested to:

  • set 2.4Ghz channel to channel 11, 5GHz to channel 48
  • Set the WiFi network mode to "High Capacity."

Wait for your reply.

Best regards.

@David-TP firmwear  1.1.1. When connection drops the light goes yellow, red, blinking red, green. The app will show it as offline when it does this.

Update. I am using just the main unit now and it will also crash. I do have it connected to the network switch which has my Xbox and eufy camera base connected to it however. bare in mind I've tried disconnecting the eufy bases and network switch and only had the two decos connected via wired back haul and it still crashes. I've also done the WiFi interference  check and it auto channels to the best possible selection and I do have it set to high capacity
