doesn't work in an Alexa Routine
Wednesday
Model: Tapo T310
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

I write a lot of routines for disabled people on the Alexa App and all your devices work brilliantly with it.  However, when I try and write an Alexa Routine for the T310 to switch on a WiFi heater when the temperature drops below a certain value, I find that the option to pick the temperature is not available.  I have reported this to Amazon support twice and now they are saying there is nothing they can do!!!   Has anyone else had this problem please?

I am not convinced I have spoken to the real backroom boys in Amazon.  Is there any pressure TP-Link can put on Amazon to fix this simple fault.  The Alexa app can see the T310 and show the temperature, it is just the routine that does not give you the option to use it.  I cannot use the Tapo App as the heaters are not Tapo.

If you sync the sensors to Alexa via Matter, the temperature and humidity values should be available as the routine triggers.

Tapo hub supports Matter Bridge, so if you add the hub as a Matter device, its sub-devices will be exposed to Alexa via Matter, providing different skill sets.

  1. Tapo hub's Matter code can be found in the Tapo app. Check method 3 in this article: Where can I find the Matter setup code number for my TP-Link devices?
  2. Then, add a Matter device in the Alexa app. How to set up Matter device with Alexa, Google, Apple or SmartThings
