Hi TP-Link Community,

I am reporting a UI/Status bug on my Archer AX80 after updating to the latest firmware version. The VPN Client toggle does not maintain its visual status in the Web GUI, although the connection itself remains active.

Steps to Reproduce:

  1. Navigate to Advanced > VPN Client and enable the "VPN Client" toggle.

  2. Connect to a configured VPN profile (e.g., WireGuard or OpenVPN).

  3. The status correctly shows as "Connected."

  4. Navigate to any other tab (e.g., Network Map or Advanced > Network) or simply refresh the browser page.

  5. Return to the VPN Client tab.

The Issue: Even though the VPN is actually working and my internet traffic is successfully routed through the VPN tunnel (verified via IP check), the main VPN Client toggle now appears "OFF" in the UI.

If I try to toggle it back "ON" manually, it initiates a "Disconnecting" cycle, followed by "Connecting," and finally "Connected" again. However, the moment I refresh the page or switch tabs, it resets visually to the "OFF" position.

Note: This issue was not present in the previous firmware version. It seems to be a synchronization bug between the backend status and the Web GUI introduced in the latest update.

I have attached a video demonstration of this behavior below. I hope this can be investigated and fixed in an upcoming firmware or beta update.

Hello  @09Z ,

This does indeed look like a display error. Does this also happen when you access the Tether app?

Please try the latest version: Archer AX80V(JP)_V2_1.4.1 Build 20251117
