There is a Knowledge Base article in the Business forum that actually also applies for the Home products, as far as I can tell.

Essentially, a router that has a label attached showing a "2.0" would have been manufactured in a different factory than the one with a label reading "2.6", but apart from that both routers are identical. (so identical that even the information shown in the web interface is identical)
