Hi,

I am using two Archer BE230 routers connected via Ethernet cable (Wired EasyMesh). The main router works fine, but the satellite router frequently drops the 5GHz band and only broadcasts 2.4GHz.

Troubleshooting done:

.Verified the Ethernet connection is active and stable.

.Factory reset the satellite router and re-added it to the mesh.

.Changed the 5GHz channel on the main router to fixed channels (e.g., 36, 44) instead of Auto.

These steps fix the issue temporarily, but the 5GHz band drops again after a while. Is there a permanent solution or a known firmware bug?

Hello  @waseemadiga ,

Welcome to our community.

May I know the complete topology? For example, ISP modem—BE230—)))((( client devices

(Note: — stands for wired connection,)))((( stands for wireless connection )

Is there a switch between the BE230 routers? If yes, please remove it for the comparison test.

In addition to changing the channel number (which you've already done), try adjusting the 5GHz channel width. Set it to 80 MHz or 40 MHz instead of Auto or 160 MHz, as wider channels can sometimes cause stability issues.

If possible, please swap the roles of the two routers, that is, set the Satellite node as the main router for comparison, to confirm whether the 5G disconnection only occurs in a specific router unit or a specific role.
