Hello,

I currently have a setup with one TP-Link Deco X50 connected by Ethernet directly to the main router in the garage, and three Deco X1500 units. One of the X1500 units is also connected by cable and provides the connection to the other two through WiFi.

Until today everything was working perfectly, but for some reason the configuration changed by itself. Now only one Deco X1500 is connected by cable, while the Deco X50 is using the WiFi signal instead of the Ethernet backhaul.

I’m getting a bit desperate because I already did a factory reset. The app lets me choose the main Deco, but I can’t restore the configuration I had before.

Has anyone experienced something similar or knows how to fix it?

Hi, welcome to the community.
If you have factory reset the Deco X50, please add it back to the existing Deco network, then connect it to the main router via an Ethernet cable and check whether the Ethernet backhaul is working.
How to Add Another Deco to Your Existing Network

Please confirm the following information if you encounter any problems:
  1. Are the Deco X50 and a Deco X1500 connected to the main router in the garage previously? If so, does Deco work in the AP mode?
  2. Was the Deco X50 the main Deco?
  3. Have you followed the instructions in the Deco app to choose a main Deco? Can you manage the Deco network properly in the Deco app?
  4. Have you configured the Deco X50 successfully? If not, what error do you see when configuring it? Please describe the problem you encounter in detail so we can better assist you.

Best regards

Hello, thank you for your reply.

As I mentioned before, it was working correctly when connected directly to the router. After the factory reset, instead of connecting it directly to the router, I connected it to another Deco using the Ethernet cable, and it seems to be working now.

I’m going to leave it like this.

Hi,
If your Deco nodes are working fine now, there's no problem keeping your current network diagram. Please feel free to reply if you need any further assistance.
Best Regards
