Bug Report – Deco X50-4G+ External Antenna Issue Causing Network Instability
Subject: Bug Report – Deco X50-4G+ External Antenna Issue Causing Network Instability
Device: TP-Link Deco X50-4G+ (Mesh, 2 units)
Firmware: Latest available
Description:
I am experiencing intermittent network instability that appears to be directly related to the external antenna setting. When the issue occurs, both LTE speeds and local WiFi network performance drop significantly, making the network almost unusable.
Steps to reproduce:
1. Use the device normally with external antennas enabled
2. At random intervals (sometimes hours, sometimes days), the network becomes very slow
3. Rebooting the device does NOT resolve the issue
4. The only fix is to manually toggle the external antenna setting OFF and then back ON in the Deco app
Expected behavior:
The device should maintain stable performance with external antennas enabled at all times, including after reboots.
Actual behavior:
The device appears to lose proper external antenna functionality intermittently without any indication in the app. This causes severely degraded LTE signal utilization and overall network slowdown affecting all connected devices (37 devices including 8 IP cameras).
Workaround:
Toggling external antennas off and on in the Deco app immediately restores full performance.
Note: I have seen similar issues reported for the Deco X50-5G model, which received a firmware fix (v1.2.1) addressing external antenna configuration and high CPU usage. I would appreciate a similar fix for the X50-4G+ model.
Please investigate this issue as it significantly impacts daily usability.
