Model: Deco X50
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: x50 1.2_en_1.0.1 Build 20221103 Rel. 43293_EU_US_up

Hi,

Almost same as in topic: https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/2958/ after I've created new network my main Deco adapter become SSID: Deco_25:00.

All Wifi devices see it on that SSID and default lable SSID is different. As last dwo letters of MAC Address.

Deco App doesn't see module to connect even if it blink with blue led light.

I have tried to solve the issue with: https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/2958/

Only oldest firmware files are able to load by HTTP Method. Newest firmwares loads failes with message that firmware file is not right.

After contact to Polish Service Desk. Mail with all description according issue comes to Service Central.

I hope someone will help me to recover module.

Hi,
In your case, please press the reset button on the Deco for 1 second to perform a factory reset, then check if the default SSID will appear.

Before trying the following firmware recovery instructions (Method 2), please refer to this link to find the Deco X50's hardware version on the bottom label.
How to Fix a Bricked TP-Link Deco Using Firmware Recovery

As per the notes in the above instructions, first recover your Deco X50 to a specific firmware version according to its hardware version, then recover the Deco to the new firmware version, and then test whether the Deco works properly.

If you fail to recover the new firmware version, please let me know the Deco X50 hardware version shown on the label and the new firmware version you downloaded.

Best Regards

Hi  @Solla-topee,

I'm fail to recover.

My Model from device label is:

X50(EU) Ver.1.20

Firmware version applied on device according to:

https://www.tp-link.com/en/support/faq/2958/

Is:

https://static.tp-link.com/upload/firmware/2023/202302/20230217/Deco_X50_V1.2_1.0.1_221103.zip

PS.: According to polish tutorial from Your link I should use letest firmware version for my hardware version that is:

https://static.tp-link.com/upload/firmware/2024/202402/20240226/X50%201.2_en_1.2.0%20Build%2020231229%20Rel.%2043148_up.zip

In case of this firmware I get message trying download firmware on recovery mode booted device under 192.168.0.1 IP address like: "Firmware file doesn't match. Please choose valid software file for your device." Firmware download ends on 4%, jump into 100% and message appers.

PPS.: In case of trying to use TFTP method nothing heppend with correctly reboot into recovery mode. Nothing appears in TFTPD app Log Viewer tab. Maybe I have wrong name of BIN? How should I call it in my cese? X50v1.20_tp_recovery.bin ? X50v1_tp_recovery.bin ? I've tested both names and nothing appears in Log Viewer.

Hi,
Since you have Deco X50 rather than Deco M5 or P7, it's recommended to refer to Method 2 in the instructions "How to Fix a Bricked TP-Link Deco Using Firmware Recovery" to perform firmware recovery.

If your Deco has updated to the firmware (https://static.tp-link.com/upload/firmware/2023/202302/20230217/Deco_X50_V1.2_1.0.1_221103.zip), please refer to the link to download the latest firmware (Deco X50(EU)_V1.20_1.4.5 Build 20240828) for your Deco, and then follow the instructions "Method 2: HTTP Uboot Firmware Recovery" to update the Deco to the new version.

If you still fail to update the Deco's firmware and the default SSID of the Deco doesn't appear, please contact your retailer or our local support team to check whether your Deco is under warranty.

Best Regards
