Model: Deco BE65
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: Deco BE65(EU)_V2_1.3.2 Build 26040912

Today I upgraded my BE65 to the latest firmware version. This is the primary Deco in my network.  After the upgrade my internet connection was lost. It connected occasionally, but it was far from stable. I restarted the network, restarted the Deco, but no positive result. After switching the internet connection to another Deco, all was stable and no issues.

The BE65 joined the network fine as secondary device, but not as the internet gateway. What can be the problem? Are there known issues regarding the latest firmware?

@Solla-topee I had tested it by setting up a second network using only that DECO, but it wasn't assigning an IP address to the laptop I connected to it. I took the test without an internet connection.

I tested that problematic DECO directly on the modem with a new network, and this time it worked. Then I reset it again and connected it to my network once more, and now it’s working without any issues.

I didn't lose the DECO, but I'm going to skip this update to avoid further issues.

Hi,
There is no known issue regarding the latest firmware (v1.3.2) of the Deco BE65 V2. In your situation, if you'd like to perform troubleshooting, please provide the following information.

  1. You can try to disconnect the main Deco from the modem, factory reset the Deco BE65 with the firmware v1.3.2 installed, connect it to the modem directly, and create a new Deco network for it.
How to Create Multiple TP-Link Deco Networks in the Deco App

  2. After the Deco is configured successfully, please test if it provides a stable connection. If so, try resetting the other Deco nodes and add them to the new Deco network. If not, please confirm:
     a. What's the LED status on the main Deco when the issue occurs?
     b. Is the problem that the client device connected to the new Deco network but has no internet?

Best Regards

I also had trouble with this update. My local network stopped working, and I had to set it up from scratch. But even so, out of the three Deco BE65 units I have, only two are working. They’re all connected via Ethernet cable. The faulty Deco shows a green light, but no device connected to it can access the internet, and the ping to the gateway is intermittent.

Hi,
Please provide the following information for further analysis.

  1. Please describe your network diagram. For example, is your network diagram "internet--main deco--satellite deco 1--satellite deco 2," and is the problematic one satellite deco 2? Or is there a switch behind the main Deco, and the two satellite Deco nodes connect to the switch? What's the model number of the switch?

  2. When a client device is connected to the problematic Deco, does it have an IP address but no internet connection? Does a wired PC have the same problem when connected to the problematic Deco?

  3. Do the Deco nodes work in Router or AP mode?

Best Regards

Internet deco -> Switch Hi-K0502WS -> other 2 decos with only 1 working.

Yes, it has an IP address but can't use the network. It tries to access the internet, succeeds rarely, but generally can't use the network. Yes, the PC connected to the decoder has no internet connection.

The decos are in router mode.

@Solla-topee thanks for taking the time to respond. I work from home, so my network has to be stable during the week. I will try this in the weekend.

My network is: internet deco, then 7 other deco's, 4 connected to the main deco,  2 connected with a cable.

The only change was the upgrade.

  @Solla-topee

I rolled back all my routers to version 1.3.0, but whatever stopped working still doesn’t work. And it all started because of the 1.3.2 update.

I now have two routers, but after this experience, it’s hard to stay with the TP-Link ecosystem, since what was supposed to be a smooth update ended up causing me problems.

@Solla-topee I just tested the problem deco in isolation and it does not distribute the IP. Reset and configure it does without problems but it works it does not work.

Hi,
"I just tested the problem deco in isolation and it does not distribute the IP. "
-How do you test the problematic Deco isolation?

If you factory reset the problematic Deco, disconnect the main Deco from the modem, and connect the problematic Deco to the modem, create a new Deco network in the Deco app for the problematic Deco, set it up, and does it work?
If not, what's the LED status on the new main Deco? Can you obtain the IP address on your client device when connecting to the new main Deco?

Best Regards
