Model: Tapo H500
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.3.12

I have been using the Tapo H500 Hub for a few months with stable connection to my eero Mesh WiFi-6 network.

Over the past couple of weeks it has been intermittently losing connection for a couple of days at a time and having a red/green flashing light indicating WiFi connection lost.

If I move the H500 Hub to a location where I can get Ethernet cable, then it comes back online.

When I then search for WiFi, I can connect it to a test WiFi-5 SSID, but it does not see my WiFi-6 eero SSID, nor my mobile hotspot.

I even tried a factory reset of the H500, but still intermittently not seeing my WiFi-6.

Also, this caused me to lose a year of temperature records from a T310 sensor. 😞

Any clues?

What channel is your WiFi 6 5GHz network currently using? Or more specifically, when this problem occurs, which 5GHz channel is it on?

If your router switches to a channel that the Tapo H500 doesn’t support, the hub won’t be able to scan and find that WiFi network. You could try locking the router’s 5GHz channel to 36, 40, 44, or 48 to see if that resolves the issue.
