Firmware Too Weak
I have recently bought a TPlink xx530v to replace the JioRouter which was extremely restrictive. Setup was an easy process and everything works fine.
However, everything works fine except for QoS. One of the main reasons I bought xx530v was to use QoS and reduce bufferbloat for better cloud gaming experience without needing to buy a separate modem.
Currently only global upload speed can be limited, no limit can be configured for specific connected devices.
Upon reducing the global upload speed, instead of reducing the upload ping, it dramatically increases the upload ping!
All other TPlink home wifi routers (Archer series) with Tether app support have such nice bandwidth/QoS controls.
It is understandable because those routers have been produced by TPlink since ages and Tether app was released long back in 2013.
Whereas TPlink has only recently started making ISP routers like xx530v compatible with Aginet app (also recently released in 2022) probably because of their increased demand due to rise of National ISPs like Jio and Airtel in home internet.
This post is a request for bringing proper full featured QoS/Bandwidth control options to xx530v which is expensive and capable enough to have the feature. The QoS/Bandwidth control feature should be properly implemented to actually reduce upload and download ping (bufferbloat) and make multiple users use the internet in a way that does not bother other clients.
With current lack of QoS and bandwidth control the OFDMA and MU-MIMO feature is useless. Even Asus RT-AC53 with Asus WRT has much much better proper granular Qos and Bandwidth control, it can handle more clients much better despite being wifi 5 router lacking OFDMA feature.
