Model: Deco BE25
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version:

Installed product.
Connected 1 device by Ethernet to the Telstra smart modem. This modem connected by Ethernet cord to NBN box.
Other device placed in another room.
TV is connected by Ethernet cord directly to the NBN box.
All appliances in house are connected to new Deco product except TV which is connected to NBN box.
Does this all sound correct?

Hi,
Based on your description, the network topology is no problem when Deco works in Router mode. If you want to set up the Deco in AP mode, please ensure the Telstra smart modem is a modem router with NAT.
Best Regards

Sounds mostly right, but one thing to flag, if your Deco is in Access Point mode, the Telstra modem is still doing the routing, and Deco is just extending Wi-Fi. That setup works fine.

If Deco is in Router mode instead, then it should connect directly to the NBN box, not through the Telstra modem — having both in router mode at the same time causes double NAT issues.

Quick check, go to Deco app → Advanced → Internet, and confirm which mode it's running in. That'll tell you if this setup is correct or needs adjusting.
