Hello,

 

I'm having trouble to add a newly bought Deco X50 Outdoor to an existing Deco M9 network with 4 nodes. 
 

I've placed the X50 next to the Deco M9 main unit and connected power via a wall socket. Wait for the blue light to blink. When adding the unit via the App it cannot find it. I tried again but no success. Rebooted my phone and tried again, no success. Connected the X50 via the supplied Ethernet cable to the Deco network also did not make a difference.

 

I see posts online that suggest using the Add via Bluetooth option, or add manually, but I cannot seem to find those options in the TP Link Deco app. What am I missing?

Upgrading the m9 firmware via a laptop solved the problem. Would be nice if the deco told me the firmware was old.

Hi,
Glad to hear that your case is resolved.


Usually, on the Deco app > App Settings > Notifications page, if the Update Firmware option is enabled, when a new firmware is released for your Deco, you will receive a notification in the Deco app. Or you can pay attention to the firmware details on our official website to see if your Deco has the latest version.
