Archer VR2800 IP address reservations bug
Hardware Version :
Firmware Version :
ISP : BT Infinity
Just setting up a new Archer VR2800 as a replacement for a BT HomeHub 5, and so far everything seems to be going well, even got IPv6 up and running with no hassles. Then, when I'm trying to reconstruct the IP address reservation table I use on my internal network, I seem to have hit a bug in the web interface of the router. Got the first nine addresses put in no problems, so fully populated the first "page" and then one entry on the second page. When I try and add the next entry, I get this:
If it's not clear, there is a grey box over the data-entry fields, making it impossible to add the MAC address of the device and the required IP address. I've got the same error on Safari (Mac), Google Chrome (Mac / Win10), Firefox (Mac / Win10), Microsoft Internet Explorer (Win 10) and Microsoft Edge (Win 10). Tried restarting the router, the client computers, all with no change. Anyone got any idea how to get around this bug as I've got another 30 or so reserved IPs to set up!
There is no newer version of the firmware available from TP-Link, this router is only on it's first release.

Hello,
Same problem with VR600 bought in 2018 (october or november, I don't remember):
Firmware Version:0.2.0 0.9.1 v0074.0 Build 170504 Rel.68210n
Hardware Version:Archer VR600 v2 00000000
I have successfully entered 12 devices for address reservation, and then I have had the grey box blocking everything. I cannot define more reserved address. I tried to delete one entry to replace it with a new one : impossible. Delete operation was ok, but I have now only 11 reserved addresses and it's impossible to enter a new one. Modify existing entry doesn't work neither.
I have a complete IoT network to design. A large number of entries in the address reservation table is a mandatory for my project. Actually, this VR600 is only good for trash in my case, unless guarantee could play.
Best regards.

Hello.
I have the same issue with an Archer MR400 and the latest firmware (1.2.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 10907 Rel.59292n)
Just noticed my Archer MR400 also same problem, updated to latest firmware still same problem. Could not go beyond 9 entries IP address reservations.
Read that TP-LINK not going to do anything on this IP address reservations bug!!!!!

Hi All,
I got my modem/router today (AC1900) and was gutted to find such a basic error in the code - and then to find that no-one can be bothered to fix it because it looks like it's been hanging around for such a long time. Seems like we're all at TPLinks mercy to fix this.
However, I do seem to have a workaround - if you're familiar with the Chrome console.
If you inspect the HTML for the gray box you'll notice two similar lines ......
<div class="table-mask" style="display: block; bottom: 0px; top: auto; height: 369px;"></div>
<div class="table-mask" style="display: block; top: 0px; height: 110px;"></div>
The first one is the one we're interested in (I think the second was always there as a grey header).
Change the first line like so ......
<div class="table-mask" style="display: none; bottom: 0px; top: auto; height: 369px;"></div>
Now make your additions as you wish and it will be added.
Cheers.

Yes! The "edit HTML" trick works on my VR600. Thank you (and Sabreur, who explained how to do it in Firefox) for this workaround!
However, ahem, surely at some point TP-Link is planning to update the firmware on their routers to resolve this problem properly? Sounds like a pretty easy fix to me.
TP-Link - not everyone has the technical chops to find a workaround, or even the response in this forum. Your customers need your help!

The firmware version is 0.2.0 0.9.1 v0074.0 Build 170504 Rel.68210n. As far as I can tell that is the latest. At least, when I click the "Check for upgrades" it reports that it is up to date. Manual searches also seem to indicate that this is the latest firmware for my VR600.
BTW - the hardware version is Archer VR600 v2 00000000
If there is a newer release of firmware, please point me to it.
Other than this glitch, my VR600 is incredibly stable and does exactly what it is supposed to (including VDSL2+).

Hi Kevin_Z, I gave the HTML Edit workaround and I have a VR900 v3
My firmware is 0.2.0 0.9.1 v0069.0 Build 170303 Rel.59897n which is reported to be the latest.
The Address reservation bug is:
Under 'Advanced' mode
Select 'Network' from the left hand menu panel
In the right hand panel, scroll down to 'Address Reservation' where you can manually assign IP addresses to specified MAC addresses
You can add (I think) about 8 or 9 address reservations before the bug appears, then you have to manually modify the HTML on the page to get any further address reservations input.
If you look back to the beginning of the thread started on 1 August 2017 you will see that it affects several router models
It's a pain in the butt, can you finally get it fixed for us please?
Thanks,
Brian.
