Archer C6 2.4G band stops working, disable then enable restores
Recently purchased Archer C6 Router running the latest firmware. On 4 occasions the 2.4G WiFi band has stopped working, devices can connect to it but get no network access. Disabling and enabling the 2.4G band on the admin interface restores the connectivity, the 5G band is not affected, a device connected to it is used to reset the 2.4G band.
I used the chat support service to discuss the issue and the suggestion was to change from automatic to a fixed channel for the 2.4G band, this appeared to resolve the issue but it has happened again today, a phone which only works on 2.4G was showing the WIFI as access denied.
is there anything else I can do to resolve this issue.

u can scroll to other posts which has the same problem since 2014. The problem is still there. I guess tp link just cant find the solution.
Already changed wifi to another brand. And spreading awareness to users about this faulty problem from tp link to avoid them from buying. Lets start and spread awareness cuz they are not hearing us out and solving the problem.
regards,
from the guy that loses 2.4 ghz connection all the time

Hello, sorry to respond late.
Is your Archer C6 V2 currently running on 1.3.4 or 1.3.1 version? Is only the 2.4G wireless not stable? How about wired connection and 5G wireless?
Have you tried to change the wireless channel to 1/6/11, and channel width to 20MHz to give it a go? Is it in router mode or AP mode?
Please give us more details so that we can speed up the whole troubleshooting process, thanks.

@Kevin_Z 1.3.4 disappeared from Spanish web site, and webui says that 1.3.0 is the latest. After some time, all 2'4 clients can't surf. They are connected, but it is a "false" connection. 5GHz band is ok. And you can't change settings. You can set 20 mhz in 2'4 and change the channel, but these options are not respected (saved, but not respected). Too much months this way. I have changed the router temporarly because I can't use my Archer this way. Regards.

Same problem here!
2,4 GHz stops working after approx. 20h of use. Only a restart can solve it.
5GHz wors fine.
This is really annoying! I bought this router because I wanted a better and more stable network.
The opposite happend :(
Please provide a fix for this problem as many many users have exactely the same issue for months now!

Hi,
the only workaround i have found for this is to disable the 2.4ghz guest network.
And if this work for others its a useful hint for tplink devs.
Best Regards

Likewise. I have installed a separate 2.4 GHz (ONLY) WAP, as some of my devices unfortunately do not operate on 5GHz.

I have both guest networks (5 & 2.4 GHz) disabled as I am not using them anyway.
Still the same problem.

Ok , what is different you have to reboot. I can only do disable and enable to get the 2.4 ghz to work again.
My settings:
5ghz guest is on
2.4ghz guest off (enable kills the whole 2.4ghz wifi in one or two days )
IPTV igmp proxy off
UPNP off
Rest is default.
I use same SSID and password for each wireless band. And i have a OneMesh device connected to the router.
With that its working around a week now...
