Deco M5 source signal selectable?
Is there an optimize command from the Deco App so that Deco slave units find their best signal source?
Is the signal source for slave decos selectable from the Deco App?

Is there a way to get access to the beta firmware. I have moved my deco m5s around and they're still connecting to the name

@TP-Link after trying this new firmware and seeing how ineffective it was to resolve this matter, I ended up selling my 3rd node and relying on only 2 moving forward. There's no point to have anything above 2 if I cant get a real mesh network with 3. Good job tp link....

Thanks to @Esker pointing out the post with the links on, I've now uploaded the beta firmware on to two of my M5's and one M9.
Just waiting for a period where I am able to reboot them all, as the Network optimization appears to be doing nothing for me :-(

You can download the firmware using the following links:
M9 V2 beta firmware:
M5 beta firmware (For V1+2+3):
https://static.tp-link.com/beta/2021/202102/20210207/Deco_M5_1.5.1_Network_Map_Optimization_Log.zip
You then need to connect to your Deco's on their web interfaces, by visiting their IP addresses in a browser. Upload the relevant firmware to the deco, ENSURING the FW is the correct one for your Deco. As if it isn't you could brick the device....
Once done (I only did this on the two I needed to change the source on) - reboot all devices, which you can do through the deco app. Then run the network optimization through the app, and you should find they've connected to their closest node and not the primary node.
