Model: RE305
Hardware Version: V3
Firmware Version:

My device tp link extender RE305 used to connect to both the network 2.4ghz and 5 ghz for 2 months. Recently it doesn't show the 5 ghz when I want to connect the device to the wifi for extension. I've reset the device and my wifi router multiple times but still no success.

The 4th indicator doesn't light up at all. I've tried placing it near and connecting it also.

Please suggest me what should I do?

Should I put a replacement request?

@Manoj.ext

Good day,

Sorry for the delay.

Did you still keep the RE305 v3?

If yes, please refer to the following suggestion:

1. Was the host 5ghz detectable during the setup?

2. What is the model number of the home router?

3. Are you able to change the wireless channel on the home router to be channel 36/40/48 for 5ghz?

4. please try to update the following firmware to see if it helped or not: https://community.tp-link.com/en/home/forum/topic/192368?replyId=521758

Thank you very much!

@TP-Link

Yes,I still kept the tp link extender.

The host network 5ghz was not detectable during the setup.

Model no. of my home router is JCO4032.

No, I'm not able to change the channel for my home router.

@Manoj.ext

Hi, thank you very much for your kind reply.

I have seen this model quite a few time.

And we used to find out the router fixed the 5ghz channel to be channel 149 which is on band 4.

But due to the CE certification, band 4 is not support, only band 1/2/3.

It is highly recommended to contact the support  and they would help us change the channel to be channel 36/40/44/48 according to the feedback from other customers.

Thanks a lot.

@TP-Link

Could you provide me with the contact details for support because which is available on the website is not responsive.

Also any nearby help centre which could look into the matter? (I stay in Vile Parle East, Mumbai)
