Deco M4R (US) v2 WiFi 5ghz channel support issue (in Bangladesh)
Hello there,
Before posting this I did extensive search in this forum and found following as of writing.
- Deco M4 does not support selecting WiFi band/channel
- 5 Ghz band is selected based on the location where the router is made and/or used
Given these facts, we (users in Bangladesh) are facing an unique problem with 5 Ghz WiFi. Deco is automatically selecting and broadcasting in 36, 40, 44, 48 channels whereas most client devices in Bangladesh supports 149, 153, 157, 161, 165 channels. Thus most of the devices in my house cannot connect to 5 Ghz network and Deco M4 is just acting like a glorified 2.4 Ghz mess.
I would love to see Deco implementing selectable band (not channel) feature in future. As of now, is there any beta or custom firmware available that can force the router to use 149, 153, 157, 161, 165 channels? I'll be more than happy to test a beta firmware if that allow connecting my devices.
Thanks

@TP-Link Thank you, it's working now!
As the given firmware is a beta/test version, is there any page where I can look for the stable version when it comes out? Tp-Link Bangladesh download center has no firmware available for v2 hardware as of now.

Hi,
Except for the Samsung devices, how about other mobile devices?
Since we did not receive feedback that only band 4(channel 149-165) is allowed in Pakistan, like Bangladesh, so once we fix the 5ghz to band 4 only, other devices would fail to detect the wireless signal;
Thank you very much.

Hi,
Since the beta firmware for Bangladesh could not be downgrade to the common firmware(Because only band 4 is allowed in Bangladesh and all the local devices only support band4.), so it would be much better for you to check with Samsung support whether they could change the channel setting on the smartphones;
Thank you.
