@salempc Hello,

Normally to building a mesh system requires router and AP or extender both support Mesh.

For Mesh network, it is recommended to consider Deco Mesh system, and that requires 2-3 Deco units, topology could be look like below:

https://www.tp-link.com/support/faq/1794/

If you just want to extend the WiFI network, you could consider a standard AP, AP could have the same SSID as router and most nowadays wifi device like phones and laptops could roam between AP and main router, but there will be a short cut-off like a few secs and not fast as a Mesh system when clients roam from (Router)AP to AP.

@salempc

If you want specifically an Access Point, and not a "Mesh" solution, you could look at the TP Link Omada range

You would need

1x OC200 (Controller)

One or more EAPs (225/245/265/620/660)

Enable Fast Roaming on the controller and if the APs are cabled in, you will have seamless roaming.

If you want to use MESH instead, just enable the mesh setting on the controller and one or more of the EAPs will connect wirelessly.
