@David-TP Is the an ETA on this feature? It's been two months since it was said to be coming.

Like many I have a lot of devices such as my cameras, doorbell and loghts that don't require internet, instead working locally through Home Assistant. This is to reduce my dependency on the internet and cloud.

So to lose my local network when my internet goes down is counter to what I am trying to achieve.

I'm running 3x Deco M5, with the main one connected to the modem and a network switch. My house is then running cat 5 to the other rooms.

I'm about ready to ditch Deco and TP-Link altogether as this has been a bit of an issue lately with with several external infrastructure issue with my internet.

Regards

  @Winwood

Hi, the latest 1.7.1 firmware for Deco M5 has improved the WAN-LAN auto-sensing feature. If the physical connection between the modem and the main Deco has not been disconnected, the original WAN port has remained.

Best regards.

Hi, Deco XE75 with firmware 1.2.1 and later has added this optimization as well.

Hi,

That's interesting, as when my internet went down yesterday, so did the LAN. I will check what version I am on, as I might just not be up to date.

Thanks

According to the Deco XE75 Pro support web page, there is a 1.2.1 firmware update, but the update screen on mine says it's on the latest firmware, although it's on 1.0.3.

I was going to do a manual firmware update, but I'm confused about the hardware version. On the bottom of my router there is a label:

S/N: Y226xxxxxxxxx US/1.6

MADE IN VIETNAM

From this I would assume version 1.6. However, on the web interface in the page Advanced -> System -> Firmware Upgrade, under Online Upgrade, both of my units show XE75Pro(1.0) in the model column. I would expect the (1.0) there means it's version 1.0.

So which one should I download? The one for version 1.0 or 1.6? And why does automatic update say there isn't a new version, when there is one in the product's support web page?

Hi, Deco XE75 Pro V1 and V1.6 shared the same firmware.

The latest version for XE75 pro-V1 is 1.2.1

https://www.tp-link.com/us/support/download/deco-xe75-pro/v1.60/#Firmware

Since it is just released, it might take a while before detecting via Deco APP.

Best regards.

@David-TP Thanks! I have the Deco XE75 running on version 1.2.5. Where do I go to set a fixed port the the WAN? I don't see it on the APP.

Hi, I see now why I don't have this feature. Seems it was added for hardware version 3.20, I have hardware version 3.0 which is still on firmware v1.6.5 from January this year.

Will version 3.0 of the Deco M5 be getting the same upgrade?

Thanks
