Model: Archer MR600
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.4.0 0.9.1 v0001.0 Build 210727 Rel.33453n

Steps to reproduce the issue:

- Go to System Tools -> Administration

- Scroll down to ICMP Ping

- Tick checkbox Remote

- Click Save button

Take note of the IP Address of the WAN interface in the Status page and use a different Internet connection to ping the WAN's IP address. The router will not respond to ping.

Expected behaviour:

- Once the Remote ICMP Ping is enabled, being able to ping the router WAN's IP address from a different Internet connection.

@laren

Hi,

Based on my experience, the internet IP on the 3G/4G routers is a private one, not a public IP address.

For more details, please have a look at this link:

Remote Access issue on LTE Gateway Routers

So actually outside the Archer MR600, there is another firewall that would block the ping.

@TP-Link The IP address is public in my case: 109.112.138.127 right now.

Thanks

It's a dynamic one so it changes every time it reconnects, but it's never from RFC1918 address space.

Thank you for taking into consideration this bug.
