Easily create separate 2.4ghz band for IOT devices.

This is really necessary because device connect to 2.4 GHz even when they support 5 GHz and 5 GHz allows them 10 times higher bandwidth

I had to change some simple old smart switches because they refuse to use the guest 2.4ghz and or normal band with 5Ghz +2.4Ghz

Please kindly add this feature for IoT devices to use exclusively on 2.4ghz on the same network. It really helps for old devices.

  @David-TP

since 5ghz network bands were released I have always been able to create separate ssid for each band. One network name is great in theory for the average user but for users that want better control of their network they need the ability to be split.

this solves several performance issues with high network usage devices connecting to the slower 2.4ghz speed.

on my network 5ghz is for computers, gaming systems, phones, tablets and tvs. 2.4 is for everything else. I don't have to worry about a high bandwidth device connecting to the slower 2.4 wifi ever, even while roaming through access points.

using the guest network as a work around is not an option as that creates separate network not viewable from devices on the main network.

This feature alone has answered my question on which mesh network system to buy. It won't be tp-link.

I just purchased an X55 system and couldn't believe this was not an option.  Please add this, really is needed for IoT devices.

  @David-TP  Please implement SSID per band. I have numerous devices ALREADY SETUP to connect to a particular SSID and it is a PITA to reconnect them ALL.

I never dreamed that an advanced Mesh router like x55 would not have ALL of the features that have been STANDARD like forever.

  @David-TP

Recently purchased the XE75.

I am not an advanced user by any stretch of the imagination but like other users have said - have used 5+ year older routers that have allowed separate SSIDs for different bands and over the years have added devices to the 2.4ghz specific SSID.

It is a HUGE time waster to have to go and re-connect all of those devices.

Please implement this ASAP or will have too return the XE75 and consider a different company...

Got here after I setup things and was happy with how it turned out and performance - unti l discovered this is not possible.
DEPLORABLE. returning....

Agreed! The devices have great specs, but who cares if you can't take advantage of them!? Very disappointed with TP-Link...
