Model: Archer AX73
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.2.2 Build 20220317 rel.50456(4555)

Smart connect, why would TP-link AX73 connect a AC3100 4antenna card to 2.4Ghz cutting internet speed 1/2

Every other device, phones, Chromecasts, RPi4 connects to 5Ghz, but the fastest device in the room connects to 2.4GHz every time. This firmware is flawed. 2.4Ghz cuts my interspeed from 220 mpbs with 5Ghz to 110 mpbs. My Winows 10 computer with 4 antenna AC3100 card, the router selects 2.4GHz on every boot, every single time. The router selects 2.4GHz Wi-Fi 4 (802.11n) for this device, unbelievable.

Hey, TP-link, update the brains of this router. This doesn't happen with an Asus router.

  @MrOtto

Hi,

Check if you can find a setting in the Advanced properties of the AC3100 card's driver (via Windows Device Manager) that allows to set a preferential band (for example something named "Band Preference" or "Preferred Band") and if there is such thing then set it to prefer 5 GHz.
