If TL-WA850RE failed to reconnect to Wi-Fi router, i'd suggest verifying the Wi-Fi password of router that you have put in first, then factory reset extender and reconfigure it.
Here are some tips to help you install the extender that may help with the installation .

If still the same, can I know how about the led status on the extender, and what's the model of router? You could also troubleshoot as instruction below:
