Good day regards,

I was able to get my internet speed up to the modem speed by disabling Smart Connect under Advanced tab -> Wireless -> Wireless Settings -> Smart Connect. I'm using the latest firmware as to date 2023-04-12. Hopefully this becomes helpful to those who find this thread.

Happy networking regards

Cheers,

HughAzure

@HughAzure

Glad to hear that the speed becomes as good as expected by disabling Smart Connet on the router.

Is the model of the TP-Link router Archer C5400X? It seems there is no firmware published on 2023-04-12 for Archer C5400X. Can you please confirm?

Generally, the Smart Connet allows the router to automatically assign connected devices to the Wi-Fi band that provides the fastest speed. It won't slow down the speed unless some devices are connected to a slower 2.4G network automatically.
