Deco M4 stuck on old version

A local ISP in the Philippines provided me with two Deco M4s. The box says its compatible with Alexa, i tried to set it up, but the app says "no networking product available", so i went to check for a new firmware. Even though the deco is currently on a 2019 firmware, the app won't let me update it as claims the deco’s firmware is current. I attempted to upgrade the firmware using the firmware recovery method that the Tp-Link community had advised me to use. I took all the necessary steps, but I still can't get my Deco into recovery mode. As soon as I pressed the reset button and plugged in the wire, the led became black after a few seconds.. Is there a method for me to activate recovery mode if the system is not bricked?
