Model: Deco X50
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.1.0 68968

Hi,

I just installed 3 fresh new Deco X50 in access point mode.

The configuration is : Modem -> Switch 8 ports -> RJ45 ports

In the living room on the ground floor, I have the main Deco in RJ45 mode

On the first floor, I have a second deco in wireless mode

On the second floor, I have the last deco in RJ45 mode in the attic where my office is located.

I have my NAS plugged into the last deco in RJ45.

Everything is working fine but the NAS doesn't go the sleep anymore without changing anything ...

Do you have an idea on the problem ?

Thanks ;)

Hi, actually it's ok now ; I just uninstall the Active Insight Service and also turn off "IP conflict detection" and it seems to be good :)

Thanks for the help

As a fellow Synology NAS owner I would suggest you google and read "What stops my Synology NAS from entering Hibernation?" from Synology Knowledge Center. The list of possibilities is substantial and includes such things as "DHCP: You have enabled the Get network configuration automatically (DHCP) option on any LAN."

In my case, I decided to just power off NAS at night when nobody uses it, by setting a startup and shutdown schedule. It is 8 hours downtime every night.

There is an opinion that setting NAS to sleep during the time when it has to frequently wake up could be detrimental to hard drives longevity. People who hold that opinion (including me) recommend to either not use sleep/hibernate at all or power off NAS for extended time, such as overnight.

One more thing: if you can configure your Deco mesh to run in Access Point mode, try that and see if NAS goes to sleep now. Switching a Deco to Access Point (AP) Mode

  @Alexandre.

Hi, actually, it's already in access point mode.

The NAS has a fixed ip.

And the Nas hibernation worked good before.

Hi, Thank you very much for your feedback.

Could you please help me run a simple test:

temporarily unplug the attic satellite Deco X50 and connect the NAS back to the same RJ45 cable that was used to connect the attic Deco.

Would NAS get into hibernation mode when there are only the main Deco and wireless Deco left?

Wait for your reply and best regards.
