Hello,
I have a problem connection my printer to a TP-Link Mesh network.

When I enter the Deco Network name and password into the printer it confirms a connection.

But  when I try to configure the printer in the Mac settings it doesn’t work.

If I choose the Telekom router directly in the mac settings and on the printer everything works.

One of my 3 Deco units is connected via cable to the Router. The other two are located elsewhere in the house.

Does anyone have an idea how I can get to the bottom of this?

Thanks

Nick Kennedy

Drucker: Brother DCP-L2520DW

Router: Telekom Speedport Smart 4

Mesh-Netzwerk: 3 Deco M4 Geräte

Hi, Have you tried to change Deco M4 into Access Point mode to see whether it helped:

How to set up Deco to work in Access Point mode

Wait for your reply and best regards.

@David-TP Thanks for your suggestion. I'll try and see if Access Point mode makes a difference and then get back to you.  @ToNickk

@David-TP It worked ! Thanks for the tip. Now I can print.

There's a small downside, however. I now see a number of unidentifiable nodes, including one that looks chinese.

And, the network is much slower than before. From the router I'm getting 150 - 200 MBit/s, but on the deco mesh network it's well under 100 MBit/s.

So, work in progress.

Cheers

Nick

  @ToNickk

Hi, Nick,

I think there might be something wrong with the negotiating speed between the first Deco M4 and Telekom Speedport Smart 4.

Are you able to check the port status/speed on the Telekom Speedport Smart 4 to make sure all the Ethernet ports have a 1G/s link speed?

It is also suggested to contact the other port of M4 to a different port on Speedport Smart 4.

Replacing a new Ethernet cable is also recommended.

Thank you very much and best regards.

@ToNickk Very many thanks for all these tips, which I really wasn't expecting. It will take me some time to understand and work through the various suggestions you make, but I will certainly get back to you when I have, hopefully, solved the speed problem.

Best Regards

Nick
