I've currently got Deco in the house and a EAP225 outdoor, I'm considering replacing it with an X50 Outdoor for convenience (single network mesh, better recovery from power cuts etc), however would it be a downgrade in terms of range? I'm struggling to compare as the Omada and Deco stats are presented differently (understandable as they have different customer bases).

 

Cost wise, I shouldn't lose out as 2nd hand price of Omada kid would fund the X50, just worried the X50 might have a lower transmission power?

Will you plan to connect Deco X50-outdoor via Ethernet cables into the Mesh system?

 

Deco X50-outdoor maintains its WiFi range without any downgrade, and in field tests, it demonstrates a competitive performance comparable to the EAP650-outdoor.

  @David-TP thanks for the reply. Yea eap225 is PoE to the end of the garden so I'd just swap the units over so no worries there. It's the transmission power that I can't find a figure for, just worried it won't be as strong as eap225 being more consumer focused?

Hi, When there was no Deco X50-Outdoor, many users also bought EAP225-Outdoor to extender household WiFi outside. Later, we got the idea to develop Deco X50-outdoor as a supplement for Deco Mesh families. Although there may be differences in software features and controllers, their outdoor wireless range is quite comparable.
