Hi All,

I am new to the TP Link Deco family, switched over from Google Nest Mesh system.

I recently bought the XE75 Pro (3 pack) and added the XE75 (3 pack) for the additional nodes. (Total 1 main router and 5 nodes).

My mesh system is currently set to a designated 6 Ghz dedicated wireless backhaul.

Gateway (with Rogers) is set to Bridge Mode ON, and designated as Dynamic IP. All modem Wifi signals are off.

My issue is that the mesh system keeps disconnecting, or my clients keep disconnecting. I have tried the following:

1. Rebooting the entire network and the Modem.

2. Changed my LAN cable to a Cat 8 cable from modem to router.

3. Updated all nodes to the latest firmware. (XE75 Pro currently is 1.2.9 Build 20231225 Rel. 57498. XE75 is 1.3.2 Build 20240119 Rel. 39178)

4. Relocated the nodes so that they're closer together (the app shows that each node is getting the full '3' bar status) and also tried putting them further apart.

5. IPV6 is ON. (It was initially off when I hooked up the system from factory specs).

6. No HomeShield, Security, or Parental Controls set. No VPN, No Guest Network. Setup is the most basic.

I was told I may have too many nodes that are too close together, so I eliminated one of them, but yet, the problem continues to persist.

As well, whenever I log into my Deco App, the App shows that a few nodes are 'not found' or 'disconnected', but the clients would still be connected. However, when the App shows that the nodes are connected, then the clients would be disconnected. This happens daily, every 2-3 hours, even after a full network reboot.

I currently have 12 Google Nest cameras, both indoor and outdoor around the house. 12 Google Nest Hubs. Around 20 TP Link Kasa light switches, total of around 80 connected clients. They would intermittently disconnect whenever I access them, or show that the network has been disconnected (the screen would display 'disconnected' on the Google Nest Hub).

I have continued to use my previous SSID and Password that I had with my previous Google Nest mesh system so that all devices and clients wouldn't need to reset.

I can't seem to figure out what is going on, if anyone can provide me with some ideas, suggestions, or tech tips, it would greatly be appreciated. Thank you in advance!

Are all the 5 satellite Deco units wirelessly connected together?

-Can I have a picture of the network topology on the Deco APP, such as

Have you noticed any satellite Deco turn flashing red during the disconnection?

It is also suggested to install the beta firmware here on the Deco XE75 Pro_V2_1.2.9,(no need on the Deco XE75_v1_1.3.2)

Moreover, did the disconnection occur to the smart IOT devices more frequently?

Hi David, thank you for your reply.

All satellites are connected wirelessly (please see below screen capture). I have since removed one satellite and 20+ clients and the signal seems to be more stable.

The satellites will only flash red when I reboot/network reboot the system. Usually, it's lighted green.

The devices/clients that seem to disconnect the most are my Google Nest Cameras and Hubs. Every so often, my Kasa smart switches would be flashing green/red, meaning they have lost connection. Also, my phone and computer would show "no internet" while connected.

As for the Beta firmware version, how do I go about updating it?

I'm having similar problem with the Deco XE75, similar version 1.2.9 Build 20231225 (EU model)

Some satellites are very frequently disconnecting when clients are connected to them. This is quite frustrating for such pricey appliance.

Just this morning, one of this satellite was blinking red and I connected to the mesh directly to get the following logs:

@xoofx omg yes! I've been dealing with this issue now for some time. I have been escalated to the point where I had a TP-Link engineer telnet into my computer and remotely make some changes directly to my deco network. Before that my deco's were completely unstable. nodes dropping on and off randomly all the time, same with clients. Couldn't get more than like 80 clients connected at one time and coming from a Asus mesh system that had upwards of 150 clients before it started struggling this seemed unacceptable. Especially when the whole reason I switched to the XE75Pro Deco system was because of the product sales pitch 'of it being able to handle 200+ IoT devices.

Anyways he made some changes to the units directly into their firmware and when he was done I was told to monitor for some time without adding any new devices and without rebooting any of the decos and report back. That was just a little over a week ago. Initial report was solid as my network seemed to be much more stable with only a couple hiccups in device disconnects plus my client connected amount went up to just over 100 which means before the changes I routinely had 20+ clients that were being diassociated/disconnected. So things were looking up and I was hopeful this would hold and workout so I could get back to getting the rest of my devices connected.

Then I returned to work and in my first meeting I was booted mid presentation and disconnected. Not sure if deco issue or something else as I didn't have time to investigate but I suspect the deco as it is still spitting out the same error logs as when it was struggling before. However it returned to being decently solid the past few days but then just the other night we had a crazy storm roll through that knocked out the power for about 4 hours. So all my decos have been rebooted now. And soon as the power comes back on I notice clients struggling to be given IPs, clients being dropped, my network seemingly losing internet,devices connect but report no internet connection (though investigating this further shows modem logs with zero issues and no connection drops plus I had a tech out twice to make sure things were within levels and good which the modem reports.

So whatever changes he had made I believe have been reset or erased etc. I am on the latest firmware for the XE75pros but the X50-Outdoor, the one he made the most changes too is a couple of version numbers behind the current one. I haven't changed it but I am thinking I might as well because at this point I have not much to lose.

The reason I posted is because I saw your router logs and you are getting spammed the same way mine was and Is again now. Hoping this will keep getting bumped up and stay in the top of TP-Links queue. Currently my nodes are all hardline backhaul so there really shouldnt ever be a disconnect between them and here is just a snippet of some of my logs which are just filled with this stuff over and over (this is the log from one of my nodes directly but all of my Decos report the same.

If anyone gets anywhere with this please please please hopefully see this thread and let us know. I dont want to have to get an enginner ivolved all the time but I am back to this being unacceptable for the price and also for advertising features and capability that isn't even close to real world. Also if anyone has info on what the error means or what it is referencing that would be nice too as a google search doesn't turn up much for that one.
