Model: Deco XE75
Hardware Version: V2
Firmware Version: 1.2.12 & 1.2.9

I have a double story house of ± 500 square metres and had a deco set up of 3 x XE75, 2 2x X10's and older M models. I struggled with intermittent connection issues on my wifi cameras, so decided to get another 3 XE75 units.

The situation actually worsened and I struggle with some of my wifi bulbs not connecting. I ended up adding the 2 x X10 units back into the network to see if they will cater better for the 2.4Ghz devices, but my network is still very unstable.

I have periods where everything works fine, but some of the 2.4Ghz devices just don't want to connect and I have 8 deco units in the house now.

It looks like the overlapping of deco units are causing instability for each other - I would have a worse connection on an existing deco if I plug in another unit close by. Is this possible? I ended up connecting the 2 x X10 units to two of the XE75 instead of the main deco router and that seems to have worked a bit.

Every time I touch a setting on my network I have a lot of disconnects form devices that are connected and I see my deco app is not accurate at most times with the number of devices online and it fluctuates quite a bit too.

I have about maximum 100 different typs of devices on the network at the moment - this should be very comfortable for the XE75's to handle.

I am thinking of playing around with moving some devices to the Guest network or an IoT network, but this seems to cause instability too and is very time consuming changing the connections on all of the IoT devices.

Another thing I notice is that the WPS function and advanced functionality like connection preference per device is not consistent - it is sometimes displayed when the network is connected and most deco's have good signal to all bands, but then disappears at other times. The only thing I can pick up is that one of the deco's might have a weaker connection to the main deco unit or it does not show all bands when you look at the Connected to field on the deco.

How do I get this system stable and functioning well without dropping connections all the time? My cameras are obviously a big concern for me as they are part of my security system.

Hi,

For most Deco models, we recommend up to 6 units in one Deco Mesh network.

And for your case, it is more recommended to connect the Deco units via Ethernet cable, as it would increase stability.

Here is the explanation for it.

If the cameras cannot be stably connected, please create an IOT network for these devices.

And you can also update the beta firmware here for your Deco units.

As you mentioned that there are maximum 100 different types of devices on the network, please also check the amount of the devices that are connected. Connecting too many devices can also lead to network instability.
