Model: Deco X20
Hardware Version: V1
Firmware Version: 1.17

Hello,

I've got 5 Deco X20 in my house (1 main wired, 1 TV wireless, 1 living room wireless, 1 kitchen wireless, 1 upstairs wireless), the network coverage is perfect. I get a good signal everywhere.

The problem is when i sit outside (telephone links to the one in kitchen) and im watching a movie or video for example. Its working perfect but a soon as i start walking to the living room the video/movie start buffering for like 30 to 60 seconds. I dont see the signal getting lost on my mobile but somehow there is a loss between switching in deco's.

I used to have this problem with my previous provider but they knew how to fix it, unfortunally my current doesn't know how.

ps. dont know the hardware version (didnt show up in app).

“I think I may have found a solution to the issue where TP-Link Deco units drop the Wi-Fi signal:

Disable the automatic frequency selection in the settings for each device, and set it to a specific frequency: either 2.4GHz or 5GHz.

This helped in my network by preventing devices from losing connection.

TP-Link: if this is the actual root cause, you now know where to start with new firmware fixes.”

  @Hachiroku

Hi, Thank you very much for your time and patience.

Here are some suggestions for your reference:

1. Please disable "Fast Roaming" and "Beamforming" under Deco APP>More>Advanced.

2. Turn off "Mesh Technology" for the telephone, such as:

By the way, can I have the model number of the telephone?

Sometimes, if the mobile device is very sensitive to the network delay, even though the Mesh roaming is almost seamless, it can still detect the network is changing from one AP to another.

Thanks again and best regards.
