Hi,

I currently have a mesh with 3 X10's. I would like to extend the internet to my garage box, which is 1 level down, 50m away and some thick concrete walls/floor in between.

In the setup before I bought I had some wifi repeaters that just about made it there, so it's not impossible.

What would give me the best chance here?

a) Should i buy an 'outdoor' deco version (assuming it has more range/power) in my appartement and an X10 in the garage?

b) An outdoor in the garage and X10 in the apartement?

c) have an outdoor version in both locations?

Hope someone can answer this and explain a bit.

Hi, yes, Deco X50-Outdoors would be a recommendation for WiFi Backhaul.

If you could mount Deco X50-outdoor on the tree/pole in the middle of the Apartment and Garage box, we might not need 2*Deco X50-outdoor, such as:

If the Deco X50-outdoor could connect to the existing Deco X10 in the Apartment via an Ethernet cable, it would also improve the speed and stability of the Deco X50-outdoor a lot.

Thank you very much and best regards.

Hi, Are you able to run an Ethernet cable from the Apartment to the Garage Box?

50m is still a little bit far for 2*Deco X50-Outdoors.

Or have you used powerline adapters before?

If the Apartment and Garage box are under the same electric service meter, I think you could try to use a pair of powerline adapters to establish an Ethernet Bridge, such as:

Thank you very much and best regards.

Hi,

Thanks for the suggestions, but unfortunately I can not run an Ethernet cable to the garage box, there is no path I can use through the building.

It's also not on the same electric service meter. So I don't have to much alternatives than trying to do it wirelessly.

I think your suggestion would be to use 2x an X50 outdoor ?
